The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Ontario Court of Justice's 609 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $127,987,638.86 in 2018.

Topping the list for the Ontario Court of Justice was Judge Lise Maisonneuve, who brought home $331,145.50 in 2018.

Following Lise Maisonneuve was Judge Faith Finnestad, with annual earnings of $326,162.60. Judge John Payne made $326,162.60, Judge Sharon Nicklas made $318,688.30, and Judge Gerald Lapkin round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $318,688.30 for the Ontario Court of Justice 2019 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2018, 10 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 298 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 10 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 11 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 260 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 20 received over $300,000 at the Ontario Court of Justice.
