Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2023

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Professor/Medical Doctor Anthony Tang made $549,999.96, President and Vice-Chancellor Alan Shepard made $479,600.04, and Professor Stephen Williamson round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $459,269.82 for the University Of Western Ontario 2023 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2022, 176 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 577 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 577 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 155 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 63 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 41 received over $300,000 at the University Of Western Ontario.
