2016 Sunshine List: City of Barrie top earners

Topping the list for City of Barrie was Chief Administrative Officer Carla Ladd who brought home $241,504.68 in 2015.

Following Carla Ladd was Chief of Police Kimberley Greenwood, who had annual earnings of $241,113.28. Deputy Chief of Police Bruce Carlson made $204,339.20, General Manager Infrastructure and Growth Management Richard Forward made $193,246.47 and General Manager Community and Corporate Services Patricia Elliott-Spencer round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $185,785.73 for the City of Barrie 2016 Sunshine List.

The Sunshine List

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, makes Ontario's public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

In Ontario the Sunshine List was first published in 1996, by the Progressive Conservative government of Mike Harris. Just 4,576 names appeared on the first list.
