Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2016

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Topping the list for the City of Vaughan was City Manager Clayton Harris, who brought home $256,813.40 in 2015.

Following Clayton Harris was Commissioner of Finance & City Treasurer John Henry, with annual earnings of $252,372.17. Commissioner of Strategic & Corporate Services Joseph Pittari made $250,940.89, Commissioner of Legal & Administrative Services & City Solicitor Marylee Farrugia made $233,205.77, and Deputy Fire Chief Gary Fraser round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $222,714.22 for the City of Vaughan 2016 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2015, 136 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 178 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 36 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 5 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 3 received between $250,001 and $300,000 at the City of Vaughan.
